Female Program Manager Needed For Immediate Employment

Excellence Community Education Welfare Scheme is implementing the Global Fund New Funding Model Grant funded Adolescent and Young Women (AGYW) HIV Project as a Service Delivery Agent for the Society of Family Health (SFH). The 18 months project will be rolled out in Akwa Ibom state (March 2018 - June 2019) and targets adolescent girls (age 15-19), Young Women (age 19-24), High Risk Girls (15-24) and adolescent and young girls living with HIV.


POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Project Officer will provide technical support in the planning and implementation of Adolescent Girls and Young Women HIV response. The officer will also participate in planning and implementing the AGYW Project, in the selected AGYW sites, through an all-inclusive and participatory approach to achieve the identification of HIV vulnerable adolescent girls and young women, enrolment into HIV prevention programme, behavioral change communication, health education, sex education, and linkage to appropriate care and treatment services.

PREFERENCE:    A female of not more than 30 of age 

Specific Activities:

v To conduct a desk review of targeted LGAs and write a report on the findings.
v To  identify,  train  and  support  the  AGYW  Change  Influencers,  Placed  Value Agents  who  will  carry  out  regular  HIV  awareness  outreach  to  identified  hot spots in the state

v Coordinate  with  SACA,  Ministry  of  Local  Government  Affairs,  and  MOH  to identify the young  health  personnel  who will  function  as point of contact  for AGYW referred to health facilities for STI and HIV services uptake.  
v Organize and support identified health care workers training on AGYW Project implementation in Akwa Ibom State.
v Ensure  newly  identified  adolescents  and  young  women  at  risk  are  provided with  appropriate  counseling,  HTS  services,  Health  Education,  sex  education, and linked to other services not provided in this project.
v Conduct monthly and quarterly performance review meetings for all the AGYW Change Influencers and Placed Value Agents.
v Supervision and mentorship of Change Influencers teams implementing the AGYW Project, to ensure the AGYW were reached with the MPPI.
v Work  with  Change  Influencers  to  enhance  adolescent  and  young  women centered  services  in  target  health  facilities  with  regards  to  project requirements.
v Play key role in Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement of adolescent services in AGYW sites.
v Identify, document and share key lessons learnt and successes of the project.
v Network  with  local  organizations  involved  in  ART,  and  promote  linkages between  Health facilities  and organizations  providing  HIV support services  in their community.
v Work  with  other  AGYW  project  and  linked  project  teams and  partner  health facilities  to  establish  and  strengthen  adherence  systems  within  health facilities for improved quality of patient care
v Identify best practices in AYP engagement, adolescent facility linkages, Stigma reduction and viral load monitoring in Red carpet sites for demonstration of success.
v Prepare monthly and quarterly, performance reports and share the same with the Director of Programmes.
v Undertake other duties as assigned by supervisor. Desired Qualifications:
v Diploma/Advanced Diploma in Social Sciences, Nursing, Public Health, Community health, or equivalent. A degree will be an added advantage.
v Experience working with adolescent and young girls at risk, psychosocial support and community linkages in HIV care and treatment/PMTCT.
v HIV/AIDS knowledge and related experience
v Background in community development activities
v Leadership and counseling skills
v Good interpersonal, organizational, communication skills.
v Able to work in cross-cultural settings
v Ability  to  work  effectively  under  pressure  and  to  organize  and  prioritize competing activities
v Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
v Familiarity with the Nigerian Health system, HIV Community programs, facility care and treatment program implementation and documentation.
v Possess adequate facilitation, mentoring and counseling skills.
v Proficient Computer skills (Ms Word, Ms Excel, Ms Power Point).
